Sri Krishna Janmashtami
The Divine Appearance Day Anniversary of Lord Krishna
August 11 & 15
It is that time of year again when the ringing bells of New Vrindaban announce the divine birthday celebration of Lord Krishna. Follow the sound to the grandest 2020 Sri Krishna Janmashtami festival!
It is a time to reflect on Krishna’s love and mercy and deepen your relationship with Him. Join us for days of reflection, prayer, worship, spiritual discussions, chanting of Krishna’s names, yoga, fun activities, and a host of other engagements that will connect you with the Lord and celebrate His appearance in our lives.
Tuesday, August 11
The actual appearance day anniversary of the Lord brings you an experience you will never forget. Bring your family and friends to enjoy enacted pastimes of Lord Krishna around the lake (the Janmashtami Journey), benefit from chanting Krishna’s holy names, and relish a sumptuous evening dinner. Be enamoured by the Lords Sri Sri Radha Vrindaban Chandra at a special midnight arati in their splendid new outfit. Participate in a maha-yajna (fire-sacrifice ceremony) to invoke auspiciousness and Lord Krishna’s sublime blessings, and a Kalash Abhishek, bathing the Deities with sacred liquids.
Saturday, August 15
The festivities continue with the Kalash Abhishek, fun children’s activities, yoga, worship of the cows, a swan boat festival, another feast, among other exciting events.
Fifty Years of Cow Protection
ISKCON New Vrindaban celebrates its fiftieth anniversary of nurturing and protecting Lord Krishna’s cows. Home to a thriving herd of more than 60 cows, bulls, and oxen, New Vrindaban continues to fulfill the vision of its founder and spiritual master, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, who emphasized that cow protection is the fundamental religious principle in this age by which real peace and prosperity can be achieved. Thus, since 1969, New Vrindaban has taken care of its herd in a nurturing and peaceful environment irrespective of their condition or age.
Please secure the blessings of Lord Krishna by helping us expand our initiatives and donating towards taking care of His cows (see table). What better gift could you offer the Lord on His divine appearance day!
